THE PLAN: by Bob Schroeder, Executive Pastor |
|
Along with the excitement of following God’s vision for Hillside comes the need
for a reasonable and practical plan for how to follow it. Your leadership is
confident that a phased, pay-as-we-go approach is very wise.
What does phasing mean?
It means that our dollars follow our priorities. As funds are received over the
next 24 months, we begin to use them in the order of greatest need at our Soncy
campus:
1. New 3rd – 5th grade Children’s Building
2. Expand our current Student Ministry Building
3. Expand our current Chapel for traditional worship/
modify office area
4. Expand our current parking to replace lost spaces to
building expansion
5. Create new Recreation spaces: new gymnasium/banquet
space and outdoor athletic fields and fitness areas
Phasing also means we will use:
1. 45% of received funds for Soncy campus expansion
2. 45% of received funds for debt reduction
3. 10% of received funds for multi-site and missions
So, every dollar given to NEXT will be allocated in those proportions. While we
build to meet needs for facilities to reach lives for Christ at the Soncy
campus, we are also reducing our debt and extending the reach of Hillside
through our multi-site approach in the Panhandle and around the world through
missions. The one exclusion to this plan involves our first expenditure, the new
Children’s Building. Depending on the amount of NEXT commitments received, we
may choose to begin construction before all the funds are received for that
building. You will regularly be informed of the progress of both funds received
and construction completed. Phasing will keep us focused and
balanced.
